The ZOELLER 10/1/1965 is a mechanical float switch designed for use in sump pump, sewage pump, and effluent pump applications. Rated at 230 volts and 15 amps, it ships with a 15-foot cord and operates in a normally open (N.O.) configuration, closing the circuit when the float rises with water level. The double-pole double-break (DPB) switching action provides reliable circuit interruption for motor control. Licensed plumbers and pump service technicians install this switch to automate pump cycling in residential and light commercial wet-well or basin installations.
This float switch is suited for sump basins, sewage pits, and effluent collection systems where a 230-volt pump circuit requires automatic level-based control. The 15-foot cord length allows flexible positioning within the basin or pit, accommodating varying depth requirements. The normally open design means the pump circuit is open at rest and closes to activate the pump as water rises to the trigger point.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement mechanical float switch for 230-volt sump, sewage, and effluent pump systems requiring a normally open, 15-amp float control.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pump technician in accordance with applicable local codes. Disconnect and lock out all power to the pump circuit before handling any wiring or removing the existing switch. Secure the float cord at the proper height inside the basin to set the desired activation level, and ensure the cord cannot become entangled with the pump or impeller. Verify circuit voltage and amperage are within the rated specifications before energizing the system.
