The WALTER-TITEX 7684398 is a solid carbide extra length drill bit engineered for deep-hole drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. It measures 8.5 mm in diameter with a 330 mm overall length and a 287 mm flute length, giving it a 30xD flute-to-diameter ratio suited for reaching deep blind holes and stacked workpieces. The 140-degree drill point geometry reduces thrust and improves centering on entry. A TiSiAlCrN coating provides heat resistance and wear protection during high-speed cutting. Coolant-through capability allows cutting fluid to reach the tip directly, extending tool life and aiding chip evacuation in deep bores. This bit is intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on production CNC equipment.
This drill bit is designed for primary use in alloy steels and titanium alloys, and it also performs in secondary applications involving glass and graphite. Its h7 diameter tolerance supports precision bore work where close fits are required. Typical applications include blind hole drilling, cross hole drilling, inclined hole exit conditions, and stack drilling operations. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 10 mm shank diameter and 40 mm shank length fits standard collet chucks and drill holders commonly found on machining centers and CNC lathes.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and lathes equipped with straight-cylindrical shank toolholders accepting a 10 mm shank. Rated for alloy steel, titanium alloy, glass, and graphite workpiece materials per Series DC160-30-A1 application guidelines. Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with CNC tooling and cutting parameter setup. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Coolant-through supply lines should be confirmed active before beginning a deep-bore cycle to prevent chip packing and premature tool failure. Do not exceed the maximum drilling depth of 273 mm as specified for this series.
