The WALTER-TITEX 7684387 is a solid carbide extra length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. It measures 6.1 mm in diameter with a 140-degree drill point and carries a TiSiAlCrN coating for heat and wear resistance. The flute length runs 228 mm with an overall length of 268 mm, giving it a 30xD flute-to-diameter ratio that supports deep-hole applications. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 8 mm in diameter with a 36 mm shank length. Two right-hand flutes and coolant-through capability make this bit suited to production environments where chip evacuation and thermal management are critical. A licensed machinist or toolroom technician is the typical end user.
This drill bit is designed for blind hole, cross hole, inclined hole exit, and stack drilling operations. Primary workpiece materials include alloy steel and titanium alloy, with secondary suitability for glass and graphite. The 30xD depth capacity and TiSiAlCrN coating make it a practical choice for aerospace, medical device, and precision machining applications where extended reach and tight tolerances are required. The h7 diameter tolerance on the 6.1 mm cutting diameter supports close-fit bore work without secondary reaming in many applications.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses accepting a straight-cylindrical 8 mm shank. Suitable for primary workpiece materials coded K, N, P, and S (alloy, titanium alloy) and secondary materials coded H, M, and O (glass, graphite). Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards. Part of the WALTER-TITEX DC160-30-A1 series.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Verify that the machine spindle and collet or chuck are clean and within tolerance for an 8 mm straight-cylindrical shank before seating the bit. Power down and lock out the machine before changing tooling. Coolant-through channels require a compatible spindle coolant delivery system to function as designed; confirm coolant pressure and flow rate match machine specifications before running production cycles.
