The WALTER-TITEX 7684304 is a solid carbide extra length drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding industrial applications. It carries a 1/4 inch (6.35 mm) cutting diameter with a 140-degree point angle and a TiSiAlCrN coating that extends tool life in abrasive and high-temperature cutting environments. The bit features a straight-cylindrical shank measuring 8.00 mm in diameter and 36.00 mm in length, with a total overall length of 7.874 inches (200 mm) and a flute length of 6.378 inches (162 mm). Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and thermal management at full drilling depth. This is a two-flute, right-hand cutting tool built to Series DC160-20-A1 standards.
This drill bit is suited for machining alloy steels, titanium alloys, glass, and graphite in production and job-shop environments. It excels in blind hole, cross hole, inclined hole exit, and stack drilling scenarios where extra reach and rigidity are required. The 20xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports a maximum drilling depth of 5.945 inches (151 mm), making it appropriate for applications where standard-length bits cannot reach. The h7 diameter tolerance ensures consistent fit in precision toolholding systems. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC programmers working with difficult workpiece materials will find this bit appropriate for high-accuracy, repeatable hole production.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses equipped with toolholding that accepts a straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for primary workpiece materials classified under ISO material codes K, N, P, and S, including alloy steels and titanium alloys, as well as secondary materials under codes H, M, and O, including glass and graphite. Meets ANSI and ISO standards.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician familiar with carbide tooling. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are fully stopped and de-energized before inserting or removing the bit. Confirm coolant-through supply is active and at the correct pressure before running at full depth to prevent chip packing. Carbide tooling is brittle — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts beyond the tool design, and re-chucking in worn or damaged toolholders that could induce runout.
