The WALTER-TITEX 7684296 is a solid carbide extra length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial and trade applications. Built to DC160-20-A1 series specifications, it features a 3/16 inch (4.76 mm) cutting diameter with a 140-degree drill point angle for aggressive, self-centering entry. The TiSiAlCrN coating provides exceptional heat and wear resistance, making it well-suited for extended-run drilling operations. With a flute-to-diameter ratio of 20xD, this bit handles deep-hole applications where standard-length tooling cannot reach. It ships as a single unit and is used primarily by machinists, toolroom technicians, and precision fabricators.
This drill bit is engineered for use in blind hole, cross hole, inclined hole exit, and stack drilling applications. Primary workpiece materials include alloy steels and titanium alloys. Secondary workpiece compatibility extends to glass and graphite. The coolant-through design supports internal coolant delivery, which is critical when drilling deep holes in heat-sensitive or gummy materials. The straight-cylindrical shank with an h7 diameter tolerance ensures consistent, secure seating in standard drill chucks and collet systems used in CNC machining centers and manual drill presses.

Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician familiar with carbide tooling. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the bit from the chuck or collet holder. Verify coolant-through passages are clear and coolant pressure is appropriate for the machine before initiating a drilling cycle. Avoid side loading or using this bit as a reamer, as carbide is brittle and susceptible to chipping under lateral forces.
