The WALTER-TITEX 7684278 is a solid carbide extra length drill bit designed for demanding precision drilling applications in metalworking and fabrication environments. Built to Series DC160-16-A1 standards, it features a 7/16 inch (11.11 mm) cutting diameter with an h7 diameter tolerance, a 140-degree drill point angle, and a TiSiAlCrN coating for extended tool life under high-heat cutting conditions. The overall length is 10.433 inches (265 mm), with a flute length of 8.504 inches (216 mm) and a maximum drilling depth of 7.795 inches (198 mm). A straight-cylindrical shank with a diameter of 0.472 inches (12 mm) ensures secure tool holding in standard chucks and collets. This bit is installed and used by machinists, tool and die technicians, and precision fabricators working with CNC and manual drilling equipment.
This drill bit is rated for use in alloy steels and titanium alloys as primary workpiece materials, and also accommodates secondary materials including glass and graphite. It supports right-hand cutting direction and is engineered for blind hole, cross hole, inclined hole exit, and stack drilling applications. The 16xD flute-to-diameter ratio makes it well suited for deeper hole requirements where standard-length bits cannot reach. It conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards, making it applicable across domestic and international manufacturing environments.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual drilling equipment accepting a straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials include alloy steels and titanium alloys; secondary applications include glass and graphite. Suitable for operations requiring conformance to ANSI and ISO drilling standards.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with carbide cutting tool handling. Ensure the spindle and tool holder are fully powered down and secured before installing or removing the bit. Solid carbide tooling is brittle and susceptible to chipping if dropped or subjected to lateral shock — handle with care. Verify chuck or collet runout before use, as excessive runout will accelerate tool wear and compromise hole tolerance.
