The WALTER-TITEX 7462166 is a jobber length drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding industrial applications. Built from solid carbide with a TiNAl coating, this bit delivers extended tool life and heat resistance in high-production environments. The 140-degree drill point angle provides accurate self-centering entry and reduced thrust, making it well suited for harder workpiece materials. At 118 mm overall length with a straight-cylindrical shank, it mounts directly in standard drill chucks and collet holders without adapters. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and maintenance mechanics rely on this Series DC150 bit for repeatable, tight-tolerance hole-making in steel and cast iron.
This drill bit is rated for use in cast iron and steel workpieces, covering material grades corresponding to ISO material codes K and P. It handles blind hole drilling and stack drilling applications where consistent geometry and coating durability are critical. A 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports chip evacuation in moderate-depth bores, and the 56 mm maximum drilling depth keeps the tool within its engineered performance envelope. It is appropriate for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills in job shop and manufacturing environments.
Designed as an OEM-style tooling replacement in the WALTER-TITEX Series DC150 product line, suitable for use in CNC and manual drilling applications targeting cast iron and steel workpieces.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the bit. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully into the collet or chuck and verify runout is within acceptable tolerance before beginning a cut. Follow the tool manufacturer and machine builder guidelines for feed rate and spindle speed appropriate to the workpiece material and drill diameter.
