The WALTER-TITEX 7462159 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit designed for precision hole-making in ferrous and cast iron workpieces. Built to DC150 series specifications, it features a 140-degree split point geometry that reduces walking and minimizes thrust load at entry. The TiNAl coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in dry or near-dry cutting conditions. At 0.4219 inches (27/64 inch) diameter with a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and an overall length of 118 mm (approximately 4.65 inches), this bit delivers consistent performance in both blind hole and stack drilling applications. Installation and operation are handled by machinists and toolroom professionals working with CNC and manual drilling equipment.
This drill bit is suited for ferrous metals including steel and cast iron, making it a dependable choice for production machining, job shop work, and precision fabrication. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 12 mm diameter seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders. The right-hand spiral flute design promotes efficient chip evacuation during blind hole drilling and stack drilling operations where chip management is critical to bore quality and tool longevity.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual drilling setups targeting primary workpiece materials of steel (ISO material code P) and cast iron (ISO material code K). Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards for jobber length drill bits in the DC150 series, diameter range 0.4000 to 0.5000 decimal inch.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist using a properly sized collet, chuck, or toolholder rated for the 12 mm shank diameter. Verify spindle runout is within acceptable tolerance before operation, as excessive runout accelerates carbide edge wear. This bit does not support coolant-through delivery; use appropriate external lubrication or dry cutting practices per the workpiece material and machine tool requirements. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and remove from service at first sign of chipping or coating breakdown.
