The WALTER-TITEX 7377571 is a solid carbide jobber-length twist drill designed for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial and trade applications. Built on the DC160 series platform, it features a 9.80 mm diameter, a 140-degree split point, and a dual-layer AlTiN and TiSiAlCrN coating that extends tool life in abrasive and high-temperature cutting conditions. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and through-coolant capability make this drill well-suited for production environments where consistent hole quality and tool longevity are priorities. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators are the primary installers of this tool.
This drill is engineered for use in blind holes, cross holes, inclined hole exits, and stack drilling applications. It cuts right-hand with a two-flute spiral configuration and is rated for cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces. The straight-cylindrical shank seats in standard ER collet chucks, Weldon-style holders, and hydraulic chucks with a 10.00 mm bore. Its 49.00 mm maximum drilling depth covers the majority of through and blind hole work encountered in general machining and aerospace-adjacent applications.
Designed as a DC160 series replacement or direct-application drill compatible with cast iron (K), non-ferrous metal (N), steel (P), and superalloys and titanium (S) workpiece materials per ISO material group coding. Fits standard toolholders accepting a 10.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle is locked out before inserting or removing the drill. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully in the toolholder and verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear and reduce hole tolerance. Activate through-spindle coolant before the drill enters the workpiece to prevent thermal shock to the carbide substrate.
