The WALTER-TITEX 7377538 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding materials. It features an 8.40 mm cutting diameter, a 140-degree split point, and a dual-layer AlTiN/TiSiAlCrN coating that resists heat and wear during aggressive drilling cycles. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 10.00 mm in diameter and seats directly in standard drill chucks or collet holders. At 103.00 mm overall length with a 61.00 mm flute length and a maximum drilling depth of 49.00 mm, this tool is sized for production and maintenance drilling in machining centers and drill presses. It is a tool for machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in environments where carbide tooling is standard.
This drill is rated for cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, superalloys, and titanium — material groups K, N, P, and S in ISO classification. The DC160 Series is built around a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio, which supports chip evacuation in deeper holes. Supported hole types include blind holes, cross holes, inclined-hole exits, and stack drilling applications. Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out state per applicable safety procedures. Seat the shank fully in the collet or chuck and verify runout before beginning a drilling cycle. When using coolant-through capability, confirm that the machine spindle and toolholder are configured for internal coolant delivery before engaging the coolant circuit. Inspect the cutting edges and coating condition before each use; carbide tooling is brittle and should not be used if chipping or cracking is visible on the flutes or point.
