The WALTER-TITEX 7377514 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. It carries a dual coating of TiSiAlCrN and AlTiN, which extends tool life and maintains cutting performance at elevated temperatures. The bit features a 140-degree drill point angle for accurate self-centering and reduced thrust, a two-flute spiral design, and a straight-cylindrical shank. With an overall length of 91 mm (3.58 inches) and a 7.4 mm (0.2913-inch) cutting diameter, it is built for machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators who require consistent, repeatable hole quality.
This drill bit is suited for blind hole, cross hole, inclined hole exit, and stack drilling operations. Primary workpiece materials include cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, superalloys, and titanium, covering a broad range of production and job-shop scenarios. The DC160 series is engineered for high-performance drilling where tool rigidity and coating durability are critical. Coolant-through capability supports high-speed machining cycles and helps evacuate chips in deep or interrupted cuts.
Designed as a DC160-series jobber-length drill for use with cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces across blind hole, cross hole, inclined hole exit, and stack drilling applications in ANSI- and ISO-standard toolholding systems.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC technician with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out. Confirm the collet or chuck bore matches the 8 mm shank diameter before seating the tool to the correct gauge length. Verify coolant-through lines are clear and delivering adequate flow before beginning high-speed cycles. Inspect the cutting edges and coating condition before each use; a chipped or delaminated edge on a carbide drill should not be rerun.
