The WALTER-TITEX 7377498 is a jobber length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial applications. Built from solid carbide with a dual-layer AlTiN and TiSiAlCrN coating, it delivers exceptional hardness and heat resistance at the cutting edge. The 140-degree split point reduces thrust and prevents walking on entry. With an overall length of 91.00 mm and a flute length of 53.00 mm, this bit is suited for 5xD depth applications. It is installed by machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators working in production or job shop environments.
This drill bit is designed for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, superalloys, and titanium. It handles blind holes, cross holes, inclined hole exits, and stack drilling. The straight-cylindrical shank at 8.00 mm diameter seats securely in standard chucks and collets. Coolant-through capability makes it compatible with through-spindle coolant systems, helping to evacuate chips and control heat in deep or interrupted cuts across a wide range of workpiece materials.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses equipped with standard straight-cylindrical collet or chuck systems accepting an 8.00 mm shank. Compatible primary workpiece materials include cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, superalloys, and titanium as indicated by material codes K, N, P, and S.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators familiar with carbide tooling. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before inserting or removing the bit from its holder. Solid carbide tooling is brittle and should not be subjected to side loads or improper runout in the chuck. Verify through-spindle coolant pressure is within the machine specification before engaging coolant-through operation. Compliance with applicable shop safety standards and machine tool manufacturer guidelines is required.
