The WALTER-TITEX 7377434 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous materials. It carries a dual-layer TiSiAlCrN/AlTiN coating that resists heat and wear during aggressive cutting cycles. The 140-degree split point geometry reduces thrust and improves centering on entry. At 74.00 mm (2.9134 inches) overall length with a 36.00 mm flute length, this is a compact, rigid tool suited for blind holes, cross holes, inclined hole exits, and stack drilling operations. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers running production work in ferrous and non-ferrous metals are the primary users.
This drill fits production machining environments where high feed rates and extended tool life are required. Its 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and coolant-through capability make it well matched to CNC machining centers running internal coolant. Typical applications include component drilling in job shops, automotive, aerospace, and general metalworking. The straight cylindrical shank seats directly in standard drill chucks or collet holders sized for a 6 mm shank diameter. The DC160 series is rated for use in steel, cast iron, and aluminum workpiece materials under ANSI and ISO standards.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses equipped with a 6 mm straight shank collet or chuck. Rated for workpiece materials including steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous metals per material codes K, N, P, and S. Part of the WALTER-TITEX DC160 series.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or chuck is de-energized before loading the bit. Seat the straight shank fully into the collet or chuck and torque the retention hardware to the machine manufacturer specification. Verify internal coolant pressure and flow before initiating the drilling cycle to prevent premature coating breakdown and chip packing.
