The WALTER-TITEX 7287861 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial applications. Built to DC150 Series specifications, it features a TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) coating that extends tool life by reducing heat buildup at the cutting edge. The bit measures 12.8 mm in diameter with a 140-degree drill point angle optimized for self-centering entry and reduced thrust force. Overall length is 124 mm (approximately 4.88 inches), with a flute length of 77 mm and a maximum drilling depth of 60 mm. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 14 mm in diameter and 45 mm in length. Coolant-through capability makes this bit well suited for high-feed-rate operations where chip evacuation and thermal control are critical.
This drill bit is rated for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, superalloys, and titanium — material grade codes K, N, P, and S. It is a right-hand cut, two-flute spiral design with a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio, appropriate for blind hole drilling and stack drilling operations. Shank diameter tolerance is m7. Applicable standards include ANSI and ISO. Typical users include machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and precision metalworking shops running CNC or manual drill presses where repeatable hole geometry and extended tool life are required.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses equipped with standard straight-shank toolholders or collet systems accepting a 14 mm shank diameter. Rated for cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials per DC150 Series application guidelines.
This drill bit should be installed and operated by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with carbide cutting tool handling. Secure the shank fully in a compatible collet or chuck to the toolholder manufacturer's specified clamping depth before starting the spindle. Carbide is brittle — avoid lateral impacts or side-loading during setup and storage. When using the coolant-through feature, verify that coolant pressure and flow rate are compatible with the machine spindle before operation.
