The WALTER-TITEX 6968858 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling across a wide range of workpiece materials. Measuring 13.20 mm in diameter with an overall length of 107.00 mm (4.213 inches) and a flute length of 60.00 mm (2.362 inches), this bit features a 140-degree point angle for aggressive, self-centering entry. The TiNAl coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection at elevated cutting speeds. With a 2-flute regular spiral design and coolant-through capability, it is built for demanding production environments where consistent hole quality and tool life are critical. Machinists, tool-and-die workers, and CNC operators are the primary installers of this tooling.
This drill bit is rated as a universal-performance tool suitable for steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys. The screw machine length (stub length) geometry reduces overhang for improved rigidity and accuracy in short-hole applications on machining centers, drill presses, and CNC lathes. The straight cylindrical shank measures 14.00 mm in diameter and 45.00 mm in length, fitting standard ER and hydraulic chucks without modification. Maximum drilling depth is 43.00 mm (1.693 inches). The Series DC150-03-A1 designation identifies it within the WALTER-TITEX indexable and solid carbide drill product line.
Designed for use in machining centers, CNC lathes, and drill presses accepting a 14.00 mm straight cylindrical shank. Suitable for drilling steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys. Falls within the Series DC150-03-A1 product family for drill bit size range of 11.00 mm to 13.50 mm.
Installation is performed by machinists and CNC operators in machine shop environments. Secure the shank fully within the chuck to the recommended engagement depth before operation, and verify runout with a dial indicator before production cuts. Coolant-through capability requires a compatible spindle and coolant delivery system to be effective. Always follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when setting speeds and feeds for solid carbide tooling.
