The WALTER-TITEX 6968826 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding shop and production environments. Built to Series DC150-03-A1 standards, it features a 10.40 mm cutting diameter, a 140-degree standard point angle, and a TiNAl coating that extends tool life in abrasive and high-temperature cutting conditions. The 102.00 mm overall length and straight cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard drill chucks and tool holders. Two regular spiral flutes provide efficient chip evacuation. Coolant-through capability supports high-feed drilling strategies where chip control and heat management are critical. This bit is intended for use by machinists and production drilling personnel working with precision tolerances.
The 6968826 is suited for drilling steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys. The screw machine length format — shorter overall length relative to standard jobber bits — improves rigidity and reduces deflection in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and turret lathes. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports drilling depths up to 40.00 mm. The universal tool performance rating makes it appropriate for both dedicated production runs and general-purpose shop drilling across a range of workpiece materials.
Designed as an OEM-style production drill bit in the WALTER-TITEX DC150-03-A1 series, compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks and tool holders accepting a 12.00 mm shank diameter. Suitable for drilling steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys per the manufacturer series specification.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with rotating cutting tools and machine tool safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing or inspecting the bit. Verify chuck or collet runout is within acceptable limits before use, as excessive runout accelerates carbide tool wear and can cause premature fracture. Coolant supply lines should be confirmed operational before engaging coolant-through drilling cycles.
