Product Description

The WALTER-TITEX 6618772 is a solid carbide extra length drill bit engineered for demanding precision drilling in hard and exotic materials. Built to Series DC150-12-A1 standards, it carries a 140-degree split point and a TiNAl coating that extends tool life in high-temperature cutting conditions. The 5 mm cutting diameter pairs with an 83 mm flute length for a 12xD flute-to-diameter ratio, giving it reach for deep-hole work while maintaining rigidity. A straight-cylindrical shank measuring 6 mm in diameter seats securely in standard collet chucks or drill chucks. This bit is designed for installation and use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC machining centers and drill presses.

This drill bit is suited for blind hole, cross hole, inclined hole exit, and stack drilling applications across a range of workpiece materials including cobalt, iron, nickel, and titanium alloy, as well as secondary materials such as glass and graphite. It is used in precision manufacturing, aerospace component fabrication, and general metalworking where tight diameter tolerances and consistent hole geometry are required. The m7 diameter tolerance ensures a controlled fit for press-fit and close-tolerance bores.

Key Features

  • Solid carbide construction for rigidity and wear resistance in hard-material drilling
  • TiNAl coating reduces heat buildup and extends cutting edge life
  • 140-degree drill point angle minimizes walking and reduces thrust force on entry
  • Coolant-through design supports high-feed drilling and chip evacuation in deep holes
  • 12xD flute-to-diameter ratio enables extra-length reach up to 74 mm maximum drilling depth
  • Right-hand cutting, 2-flute geometry compatible with standard CNC and manual drill setups
  • Conforms to ANSI, DIN 6535 HA, and ISO standards

Compatibility

Designed as a Series DC150-12-A1 extra length carbide drill bit for use in blind hole, cross hole, inclined hole exit, and stack drilling applications in cobalt, iron, nickel, and titanium alloy workpieces, as well as glass and graphite secondary materials.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully into a correctly sized collet or chuck and verify runout before beginning a cut. When using the coolant-through feature, confirm that coolant supply lines are connected and flowing before engaging the spindle.
