The WALTER-TITEX 6618693 is a solid carbide jobber drill engineered for high-performance hole-making in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 9.30 mm cutting diameter, a 140-degree split point, and a TiNAl (titanium aluminum nitride) coating that improves wear resistance and heat dissipation at elevated cutting speeds. The drill carries grade designation WJ30TA and belongs to the DC150-08-A1 series. With an overall length of 139.00 mm and a flute length of 95.00 mm, it delivers an 8xD depth-to-diameter ratio suitable for moderately deep holes. Machinists and toolroom technicians working on CNC machining centers or drill presses will find this tool appropriate for production and precision work.
This drill is rated for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, superalloys, and titanium. Workpiece material codes K, N, P, and S align with ISO classification. Typical applications include blind hole drilling and stack drilling operations where controlled chip evacuation and point stability are critical. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 10.00 mm in diameter and 40.00 mm in length, making it compatible with standard collet chucks and drill chucks sized to accept a 10.00 mm shank. Maximum drilling depth is 80.00 mm.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and drilling machines fitted with collet chucks or drill chucks accepting a 10.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for workpiece materials classified under ISO codes K (cast iron), N (non-ferrous), P (steel), and S (superalloys and titanium). Suitable for blind hole and stack drilling applications per DC150-08-A1 series specifications.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully and evenly in the collet or chuck before tightening to prevent runout. Verify coolant-through passages are clear and coolant flow is active before beginning the drilling cycle. Inspect the cutting edges and coating condition before each use and remove the drill from service if chipping or coating breakdown is observed.
