The WALTER-TITEX 6618682 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. Built to Series DC150-08-A1 standards, it features an 8.4 mm cutting diameter, a 140-degree drill point angle optimized for self-centering entry, and a TiNAl coating that extends tool life in high-heat cutting environments. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 10 mm in diameter, and overall length is 139 mm (5.472 inches). Internal coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and thermal management in deep or blind hole operations. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers of this tool.
This drill bit is suited for blind hole drilling and stack drilling in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, superalloys, and titanium. The 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 95 mm flute length support extended reach into workpiece material while maintaining chip flow. It meets both ANSI and ISO standards, making it compatible with precision machining centers, CNC drill presses, and manual floor drills configured for straight-shank tooling. The DC150-08-A1 series targets high-productivity environments where consistent hole geometry and surface finish are required across multiple material types.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses accepting a 10 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Compatible workpiece materials include cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, superalloys, and titanium as specified by the manufacturer for Series DC150-08-A1.
Installation is performed by licensed machinists or CNC technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the bit from the chuck or collet. Verify shank seating depth and runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut. Use manufacturer-recommended coolant flow rates when engaging the coolant-through feature to prevent thermal shock to the carbide substrate.
