The WALTER-TITEX 6618652 is a solid carbide jobber drill engineered for high-performance hole-making in demanding industrial and machining applications. It measures 6.00 mm in diameter with a 140-degree split point and carries a TiNAl (titanium aluminum nitride) coating for extended tool life and heat resistance at elevated cutting speeds. Overall length is 97.00 mm (3.819 inches), and the drill belongs to the DC150-08-A1 series, which is designed around an 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and CNC operators are the primary installers of this tool.
This drill is suited for blind hole and stack drilling operations across a range of workpiece materials including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, and superalloys and titanium. The 140-degree point geometry reduces thrust force at entry and exit, making it effective for stacked plates and interrupted cuts. Its straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collet chucks and drill chucks without modification. The 8xD flute ratio supports chip evacuation in deeper blind holes where swarf management is critical.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option within the WALTER-TITEX DC150-08-A1 series for 6.00 mm to 7.00 mm diameter range applications in CNC machining centers and drill presses using straight-cylindrical shank toolholders.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out state per applicable machine safety procedures. Confirm collet or chuck bore matches the 6.00 mm shank diameter and that the tool is seated and torqued to the toolholder manufacturer specification before running. Activate through-spindle coolant if the machine supports it to maximize the coolant-through capability of this drill. Do not exceed the maximum drilling depth of 48.00 mm (1.890 inches) in a single pass without a peck cycle to avoid chip packing and tool breakage.
