The WALTER-TITEX 6618435 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance metal cutting in demanding production and maintenance environments. Measuring 0.5510 inches (14.00 mm) in diameter with a 140-degree split point, the bit delivers aggressive self-centering entry and reduced thrust requirements compared to conventional point geometries. A TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) coating extends tool life by resisting heat buildup at elevated cutting speeds. The DC150 Series design features a regular spiral flute, a whistle notch shank for positive rotary drive, and coolant-through capability for heat and chip management in blind hole and stack drilling applications. Overall length is 4.8819 inches (124.00 mm) with a flute length of 2.7550 inches (69.98 mm). Machinists and tooling professionals are the primary users of this bit.
This drill bit is suited for production machining operations involving steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials — covering workpiece material codes K, N, P, and S. It performs in blind hole drilling and stack drilling scenarios where chip evacuation and heat management are critical. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports moderate depth drilling without compromising rigidity. It is appropriate for CNC machining centers and manual drill presses with adequate spindle rigidity and coolant delivery. Shank diameter matches the cutting diameter at 0.5510 inches (14.00 mm), making it compatible with standard collet chucks and tool holders sized for that bore.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses with collet or chuck toolholders bored to 0.5510 inches (14.00 mm). Compatible with steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous workpiece materials as defined by ISO material codes K, N, P, and S. Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards per specification designation ISO. Part of the WALTER-TITEX DC150 Series.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the bit from the tool holder. Verify that the collet or chuck bore matches the 0.5510-inch shank diameter and that the whistle notch is properly engaged before securing. Confirm coolant-through passages are clear and coolant pressure is set per machine and material requirements before initiating a cut.
