The WALTER-TITEX 6618412 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance metal cutting in demanding production environments. Measuring 0.4720 inches (12.00 mm) in diameter with a 140-degree point angle, it operates in a right-hand cutting direction and features a regular spiral flute geometry. The TiAlN coating extends tool life under elevated cutting temperatures, making it well suited for dry or minimal-lubrication applications. At 4.6457 inches overall length with a 2.3600-inch flute length, this drill fits standard CNC machining centers and production drilling setups. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and heat control in blind-hole and stack drilling operations. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary users of this tool.
This drill is rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, cast iron, and aluminum and non-ferrous metals, covering a broad range of industrial machining applications. The DC150 series designation places it in a high-performance category intended for production-volume drilling. The whistle notch shank provides positive drive retention in compatible tool holders. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and proprietary point geometry support both blind-hole drilling and stack drilling scenarios, making it practical for fabrication shops, aerospace component manufacturing, and general metalworking production lines.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and production drilling equipment that accept a 0.4720-inch (11.99 mm) shank with a whistle notch drive feature. Suitable for steel, cast iron, and aluminum and non-ferrous workpiece materials per material codes K, N, P, and S.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators familiar with carbide tooling and proper speeds and feeds for the workpiece material. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and machine is in a safe state before loading or removing the drill. Confirm the tool holder is rated for the shank diameter and drive type before clamping. Carbide tooling is brittle — avoid side loading or interrupted cuts not suited to this tool geometry.
