The WALTER-TITEX 6618350 is a solid carbide jobber drill designed for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial and trade applications. Built to Series DC150 standards, it features a 140-degree point angle with a proprietary point geometry and a TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) coating that extends tool life under heat and abrasion. The drill measures 0.2830 inches in diameter with an overall length of 3.5827 inches (91.00 mm). The whistle notch shank provides secure tool holding in compatible chucks and toolholders. Two spiral flutes with a regular helix promote efficient chip evacuation. Coolant-through capability supports sustained performance in deep or stacked applications. This drill is installed by machinists, maintenance technicians, and toolroom professionals.
The 6618350 is suited for blind hole drilling and stack drilling operations across a range of workpiece materials including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, superalloys, and titanium. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports drilling depths up to 1.4150 inches (35.94 mm). Its TiAlN coating and carbide substrate make it particularly effective in high-speed or dry cutting conditions where tool wear is a primary concern. This drill is applicable in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machine setups where a whistle notch shank interface is used.
Designed for use in toolholders and chucks accepting a 0.3150-inch (8.00 mm) whistle notch shank. Compatible with workpiece materials coded K (cast iron), N (non-ferrous metals), P (steel), and S (superalloys and titanium) per ISO material classification. Drill bit size falls within the 0.2500 to 0.3000 inch range of the DC150 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the whistle notch shank fully in the toolholder and confirm the drive key engages the flat before tightening. When coolant-through capability is used, verify that the machine coolant supply pressure and flow rate are compatible with the toolholder and spindle interface before running the program.
