The WALTER-TITEX 6618340 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance hole-making in demanding materials. Featuring a 140-degree split point and a TiAlN coating, this drill delivers clean entry and extended tool life in applications where standard high-speed steel bits fall short. The whistle notch shank provides secure tool holding in compatible chucks and holders. At 0.2520 inches in diameter with an overall length of 3.5827 inches, it fits standard jobber-drill setups. Coolant-through capability supports elevated spindle speeds and chip evacuation in deep-hole work. Licensed machinists, toolmakers, and CNC operators are the primary users of this bit.
This drill is rated for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, superalloys, and titanium. It is well suited to blind hole drilling and stack drilling operations. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 32.00 mm maximum drilling depth make it appropriate for production machining environments, job shops, and precision fabrication settings where consistent hole quality and tight tolerances are required. The DC150 series designation places this bit within a defined family of carbide drilling tools built to ANSI and ISO standards.
Designed for use in blind hole and stack drilling applications across workpiece material codes K, N, P, and S per ISO classification. Fits toolholders accepting a 0.3150-inch shank diameter. Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards per the DC150 series specification.
Installation and operation of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators familiar with carbide tooling. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and machine power is off before loading or removing the bit from the toolholder. Verify that the whistle notch is properly seated against the toolholder set screw to prevent rotation or pullout during operation. Carbide is brittle - avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without proper feed compensation, or dropping the bit on hard surfaces.
