The WALTER-TITEX 6618323 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial and trade applications. It carries a TiAlN coating for heat resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting speeds. The bit measures 0.203 inches in diameter with an overall length of 3.228 inches and a flute length of 1.015 inches. The 140-degree split point reduces thrust and self-centers on entry, minimizing the need for a center punch. Designed for right-hand cutting with a regular spiral flute, this bit is a strong choice for machinists, tool-and-die tradespeople, and maintenance professionals working with tough materials.
This drill bit is suited for blind hole drilling and stack drilling operations in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, superalloys, and titanium. The whistle notch shank provides positive drive engagement in compatible toolholders. With a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and coolant-through capability, it supports through-spindle coolant delivery systems common in CNC machining centers and high-production drill presses. It is part of the DC150 series and conforms to ANSI and ISO standards, making it a direct fit for shops specifying to those tolerances.
Designed for use in toolholders accepting a 0.236-inch shank with a whistle notch drive feature. Suitable for blind hole and stack drilling applications in machining centers, CNC drill presses, and manual machines where coolant-through capability and DC150 series carbide tooling are specified. Compatible workpiece materials include cast iron, non-ferrous metal, steel, superalloys, and titanium per the manufacturer material codes K, N, P, and S.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or maintenance tradesperson using a compatible toolholder sized for the 0.236-inch whistle notch shank. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Verify coolant-through lines are clear and pressure is within the machine specification before engaging through-spindle coolant. Do not use this bit in applications requiring left-hand cutting rotation, as it is designed exclusively for right-hand use.
