The WALTER-TITEX 6618112 is a screw machine length solid carbide drill bit designed for precision drilling in cast iron and steel. The bit measures 0.281 inches (9/32 inch) in diameter with an overall length of 3.0 inches and a flute length of 0.843 inches. The 140-degree split point geometry reduces walking and improves chip evacuation at entry. Three spiral flutes and a straight-cylindrical shank make this bit compatible with standard drill chucks and CNC tool holders alike. It is part of the DC150-03-A0 series and carries a 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio, suited for screw machine applications where short, rigid setups are required. Licensed machinists, tool and die shops, and production drilling operations are the primary users.
This bit is built for production and job-shop environments running ferrous materials. Primary workpiece materials are cast iron and steel. The screw machine length format provides added rigidity compared to jobber-length bits, reducing deflection in high-feed applications. The coated solid carbide construction supports elevated cutting speeds while maintaining edge integrity over extended run cycles. It is appropriate for use on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machines where repeatable hole quality and tool life are priorities.
Designed for use with cast iron and steel workpieces in screw machine, CNC, and drill press setups. Part of the DC150-03-A0 series, covering drill bit sizes ranging from 0.250 to 0.300 inches (6.50 to 8.00 mm). Diameter tolerance class m7 per DIN and ISO standards.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians with the machine powered down and locked out per applicable safety procedures. Ensure the shank seating surface and collet or chuck bore are clean and free of chips before securing the bit. Do not use this bit on non-ferrous or abrasive composite materials outside the rated workpiece material range. Verify spindle speed and feed rate against the manufacturer tooling data for the specific material and cutting condition before operation.
