The WALTER-TITEX 5834690 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. It features a 7.00 mm (0.2756 inch) cutting diameter, a 140-degree X-treme point angle, and an AlCrN coating that resists heat and wear during high-speed cutting cycles. The overall length is 91.00 mm (3.5827 inches) with a 53.00 mm (2.0866 inch) flute length and a straight-cylindrical shank measuring 8.00 mm (0.3150 inch) in diameter. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and tool life in deep-hole applications. This drill is typically installed by machinists and tool-room professionals working in production or maintenance environments.
The 5834690 is rated for use in cast iron, hard materials, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, carbon and alloy steel, and superalloys including titanium. It is suited for blind holes, cross holes, inclined hole exits, and stack drilling operations. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral geometry make it a strong fit for general production drilling where consistent hole quality and tool life are priorities. The web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces entry thrust and improves centering on difficult surfaces.
Designed for use in machining centers, CNC drilling stations, and manual drill presses equipped with a collet or chuck accepting an 8.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S per ISO classification. Meets ANSI and ISO standards; specification designation per DIN. Series A6489DPP.
Install and remove this tool with the machine fully powered down and the spindle at a complete stop. Secure the shank fully within the collet or chuck to the depth specified by the toolholder manufacturer to prevent runout. Verify coolant-through passages are clear and that machine coolant pressure is appropriate for the drilling depth before starting the cycle. Follow applicable OSHA machine-guarding and personal protective equipment requirements when operating drilling equipment.
