The WALTER-TITEX 5537193 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. Built to Series A3289DPL standards, it features an 8.50 mm cutting diameter with a 140-degree X-treme Plus point geometry that reduces thrust and improves centering on entry. The double coating and web-thinned, tapered web configuration extend tool life in abrasive and hard materials. With a 10.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank and an overall length of 89.00 mm (3.5039 inches), this bit is suited for CNC machining centers and precision drilling applications. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and thermal management at the cutting zone.
This drill bit is designed for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, hard materials, and non-ferrous metals, making it a versatile tool across production and job-shop environments. The screw machine length profile — shorter overall length relative to stub bits — provides added rigidity for tight-tolerance holes. It is appropriate for use in CNC lathes, machining centers, and drill presses where precise hole diameter and depth control are required. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and spiral flute type support consistent chip flow in both through-hole and blind-hole applications.
Designed for use in standard straight-shank tool holders and collet chucks accepting a 10.00 mm shank diameter. Compatible with primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, hard materials, and non-ferrous metals per Series A3289DPL specifications.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle and tool holder are fully de-energized and at rest before inserting or removing the bit. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a collet or drill chuck rated for the shank diameter to prevent runout. When using coolant-through capability, confirm that internal coolant pressure and flow rate are within the machine tool and toolholder manufacturer specifications before initiating a cut.
