The WALTER-TITEX 5337144 is a screw machine length cobalt drill bit designed for high-productivity drilling in demanding materials. Measuring 0.1875 inches (3/16 inch) in diameter with a 130-degree conical point, it delivers clean, accurate entry in cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, and general steel. The parabolic flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation, reducing heat buildup and extending tool life in tough applications. Overall length is 2.4409 inches with a flute length of 1.0236 inches, making it compact and rigid for stub-length work. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks. This bit is part of the Series A1149XPL line and conforms to DIN 1897 specifications.
This drill bit is suited for machine shop, fabrication, and maintenance applications where a short, rigid drill is required for controlled-depth holes. The screw machine length reduces deflection in drill press, CNC, and turret lathe setups. Primary workpiece materials include cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, and carbon or alloy steel. The M35 cobalt material grade provides heat resistance for interrupted cuts and abrasive materials without requiring coolant-through capability. It is sold individually and is appropriate for production and toolroom use where consistent hole quality is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or production tooling option within the WALTER-TITEX Series A1149XPL line, suitable for use in standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a straight-cylindrical 0.1875 inch shank.
Installation is performed by machinists and maintenance technicians using drill presses, CNC machining centers, or turret lathes. Ensure the spindle and workpiece are fully secured before operation. Verify chuck or collet runout is within acceptable tolerance to preserve the h8 shank diameter fit and hole quality. Although coolant-through is not required, applying cutting fluid at the point of contact is recommended when drilling stainless steel or cast iron to extend tool life.
