The WALTER-TITEX 5200224 is a screw machine length solid carbide drill bit designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding materials. Built to Series A6181TFT geometry, it features a 5.5 mm cutting diameter, a 150-degree Form V+A point, and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration that reduces entry force and improves centering accuracy. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 6.0 mm in diameter and 36.0 mm in length. With coolant-through capability and a 3xD flute-by-diameter ratio, this bit is suited for production environments where chip evacuation and heat management are critical. Machinists, tool-and-die shops, and precision fabrication operations are the primary users.
This drill bit is engineered for universal performance across a range of workpiece materials including cast iron, stainless steel, hardened materials, non-ferrous metals, and general steel. Its screw machine length format - an overall length of 82.0 mm with a 28.0 mm flute length - makes it well suited for CNC machining centers, turret lathes, and screw machine applications where rigidity and short overhang are required. Maximum drilling depth is 16.0 mm, supporting typical production hole depths in its class.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-specification drill bit for screw machine and CNC turning or milling setups requiring a 6.0 mm straight-cylindrical shank per DIN 6535HA. Suitable for toolholders accepting that shank diameter and length combination.
Installation is performed by machinists or tool crib personnel following standard tooling change procedures. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the bit from the toolholder. Verify collet or chuck bore matches the 6.0 mm shank diameter and that the toolholder is clean and free of chips before seating. Coolant-through toolholders must be used to take full advantage of the internal coolant channel.
