The WALTER-TITEX 5058357 is a jobber-length drill bit sized to wire gauge No. 70, with a decimal diameter of 0.0280 inches. Built from high speed steel with an oxide coating, it is designed for precision drilling in metal fabrication, machining, and general mechanical work. The 118-degree standard point angle provides reliable center-finding on flat and curved surfaces. At 1-1/8 inches overall length with an 11/32-inch flute length, this is a compact tool suited for tight clearance applications. Right-hand spiral flutes with a regular spiral type evacuate chips efficiently during through-hole and blind-hole operations. Web thinning reduces entry thrust and improves cut initiation.
This drill bit is rated for use in cast iron and steel workpieces and is suited for blind hole drilling and stack drilling applications. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 0.0280-inch shank diameter seats directly in standard drill chucks and collets without adapters. Series A1211 represents a general-purpose grade within the WALTER-TITEX small-diameter jobber line. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and precision sheet metal workers are the typical end users. It conforms to ANSI and ISO standards as well as BS and DIN specification designations.
Designed as an OEM-style jobber-length drill bit for use in standard drill chucks, collets, and precision drill presses accepting a 0.0280-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for primary workpiece materials cast iron and steel.
Installation is performed by machinists or qualified mechanical technicians using a drill press, CNC machining center, or hand drill with a compatible chuck. Secure the shank fully in the chuck before operation and verify runout with a dial indicator on precision work. At this diameter, operating speeds should follow the material manufacturer recommendations for high speed steel tooling in steel and cast iron - consult published feeds-and-speeds references for the specific workpiece alloy. Coolant through is not supported on this bit; apply cutting fluid externally when drilling ferrous materials to extend tool life.
