The WALTER-TITEX 5058351 is a jobber-length twist drill bit sized at wire gauge 65 (0.0350 inches diameter), ground to a 118-degree standard point angle. Built from high speed steel with an oxide coating, the bit handles the heat and friction common in production drilling environments. Its 2-flute spiral design with a tapered, web-thinned core improves chip evacuation and reduces the thrust force needed at entry. Overall length is 1.25 inches, with a flute length of 0.4375 inches (7/16 inch). A straight cylindrical shank with a diameter of 0.0350 inches seats directly in standard collet or chuck setups. Series A1211 is rated for general-purpose and high-performance drill applications.
This bit is suited for blind-hole drilling and stack drilling operations in cast iron and steel workpieces. The 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio and web-thinned tip geometry support consistent hole quality in short-run and production settings. Maximum drilling depth reaches 0.374 inches (9.50 mm). Licensed machinists, tool-and-die shops, and maintenance technicians working with small-diameter precision holes in metallic substrates are the primary users. The oxide surface finish provides moderate lubricity and corrosion resistance during dry or minimally lubricated cuts.
Designed as an OEM-style jobber-length drill bit for use in standard drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held drill motors accepting straight cylindrical shanks at 0.0350 inches. Rated for primary workpiece materials cast iron and steel (material codes K and P).
A licensed machinist or tooling technician should secure the shank fully in a properly sized collet or chuck before operation. Ensure the machine spindle is at a full stop and power is isolated before changing or inspecting the bit. Coolant-through is not supported; use appropriate external cutting fluid or dry-cutting practice per shop procedure. Follow ANSI B94.11 or applicable shop standards for drill press setup, feed rate, and spindle speed selection for the workpiece material.
