The WALTER-TITEX 5057234 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. Built from cobalt vanadium high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, it delivers the hardness and heat resistance needed for production and maintenance drilling. At 0.2188 inches (7/32 inch) in diameter with a 130-degree split point and parabolic flute geometry, this bit enters material cleanly and evacuates chips efficiently. The web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces thrust and improves centering. Overall length is 2-19/32 inches. It is installed by machinists, maintenance technicians, and fabricators working in shop or field environments.
The 5057234 is suited for drilling cast iron, stainless steel, hard materials, non-ferrous metals, and general steel. Its screw machine (stub) length profile provides added rigidity compared to jobber-length bits, making it a reliable choice for drill press work, CNC applications, and handheld power tool use where chatter and deflection must be minimized. The parabolic flute design supports efficient chip removal in both through-hole and blind-hole applications across these material types.
Designed for use in standard drill press chucks, CNC spindles, and handheld power tool chucks accepting a straight cylindrical shank. Rated for drilling cast iron, stainless steel, hard materials, non-ferrous metals, and carbon and alloy steel. Part of the Walter-Titex Series A1148 product line.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with metalworking drill bit selection and speeds and feeds. Ensure the drill press, CNC machine, or handheld tool is fully powered down and secured before changing bits. Seat the straight shank fully in the chuck and tighten evenly to prevent runout. Do not use cutting speeds or feeds that exceed the bit material rating, particularly in stainless steel or hardened materials.
