The WALTER-TITEX 5057211 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in a wide range of metallic workpiece materials. Built from vanadium high speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, it features a 130-degree split point and a parabolic flute geometry for efficient chip evacuation and reduced thrust. At 5/32 inches (0.1562 inches) in diameter with a 2-5/32-inch overall length and a 7/8-inch flute length, this bit is suited to short-reach drilling applications where rigidity and accuracy are priorities. A tapered web with web thinning reduces cutting resistance at entry. Right-hand cutting direction with a straight-cylindrical shank makes it compatible with standard drill chucks and CNC toolholding systems.
This bit is intended for use in metalworking applications across maintenance, fabrication, and production environments. Primary workpiece materials include aluminum alloy, aluminum silicon alloy, brass, copper alloy, stainless steel, and steel. The screw machine length format provides a shorter, stiffer profile compared to jobber-length bits, making it a practical choice for press drilling, turret lathes, and screw machine setups where hole location accuracy and tool stability are critical. It is appropriate for use by machinists, tool and die technicians, and maintenance professionals working in shop or field settings.
Designed for drilling aluminum alloy, aluminum silicon alloy, brass, copper alloy, stainless steel, and steel workpieces. Fits any standard drill chuck or CNC holder accepting a straight-cylindrical shank at 5/32 inches diameter. Conforms to BS and DIN specification designations per Series A1148.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with drill press, lathe, or CNC machine operation. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or toolholder before operation and confirm runout is within acceptable limits. Ensure the workpiece is clamped or fixtured securely to prevent movement during drilling. Follow applicable shop safety procedures including use of appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material, eye protection, and machine guarding.
