The WALTER-TITEX 5057201 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding shop and production environments. Built from cobalt vanadium high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, this bit delivers reliable tool life across a range of workpiece materials. It features a 2-flute parabolic design with a 130-degree split point and web thinning on a tapered web configuration. The straight cylindrical shank and compact screw machine length body make it well suited for turret lathes, screw machines, and CNC drilling operations. Licensed machinists, tool and die technicians, and production shop operators are the typical end users for this style of bit.
This drill bit is rated for use in cast iron, hard materials, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, and general steel. The parabolic flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation in deep-entry cuts, and the split point reduces walking and thrust at entry. With a flute-to-diameter ratio of 3xD and a maximum drilling depth of 0.700 inches, it handles typical through-hole and blind-hole applications in production and maintenance environments. The Series A1148 designation places it within a universal-performance grade product line built to DIN and ISO standards.
Designed as an OEM-style production drill bit for use in screw machines, CNC machining centers, and turret setups requiring a straight cylindrical shank bit in the 0.2000 to 0.2500 inch diameter range.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with cutting tool setup and speeds and feeds selection. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation and verify runout before drilling. Power down the machine and lockout all energy sources before changing tooling. Do not exceed the recommended maximum drilling depth of 0.700 inches for this bit without evaluating tool deflection and chip load.
