The WALTER-TITEX 5057186 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. Built from Cobalt Vanadium High Speed Steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this bit measures 0.0938 inches (3/32 inch) in diameter with an overall length of 1-11/16 inches. The 130-degree split point reduces walking and requires no center punch on most surfaces. The parabolic flute geometry improves chip evacuation and allows faster feed rates compared to standard flute designs. Web thinning with a tapered web configuration reduces thrust requirements and extends tool life. This bit is suited for use by machinists, maintenance technicians, and fabricators working on production or precision drilling applications.
The 5057186 is rated for universal tool performance and is well suited for drilling cast iron, stainless steel, carbon steel, hard materials, and non-ferrous metals. Its screw machine length profile - shorter than jobber length - provides added rigidity in drill presses, CNC machining centers, and turret lathes where stub-length tooling is preferred. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports drilling depths up to 0.40 inches (10.00 mm). This bit complies with DIN, ISO, and BS standards and is classified under Series A1148, a designation associated with high-performance stub-length tooling.
Designed as a direct-fit screw machine length drill bit for use in drill presses, CNC machining centers, and turret lathes accepting a straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials include cast iron, stainless steel, carbon steel, hard materials, and non-ferrous metals per manufacturer specifications.
Install into a properly sized chuck or collet and ensure the shank is fully seated before operation. Always secure the workpiece with appropriate fixturing before drilling. Use cutting fluid or coolant as required by the workpiece material, even though this bit does not feature coolant-through capability. Inspect the cutting edges for wear before each use, particularly when drilling stainless steel or hardened materials.
