The WALTER-TITEX 5057159 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial applications. Built from Cobalt Vanadium High Speed Steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this bit measures 0.0787 inches in diameter with an overall length of 1.5 inches and a flute length of 0.469 inches (15/32 inch). The 130-degree split point reduces walking and improves entry accuracy on hard materials. A parabolic flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation. The web-thinned, tapered web configuration lowers thrust requirements, extending tool life in high-cycle production environments. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and maintenance mechanics are the typical users.
This drill bit is rated for universal tool performance and is suited for drilling cast iron, stainless steel, hardened materials, non-ferrous metals, and general steel stock. The screw machine length (stub length) format provides added rigidity compared to jobber-length bits, making it a practical choice for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and turret lathes where minimal overhang is required. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard three-jaw drill chucks and collet holders. Series A1148 conforms to DIN, ISO, and BS specification standards.
Designed for use in standard three-jaw drill chucks and collet systems accepting a straight-cylindrical shank. Compatible workpiece materials include cast iron, stainless steel, hard materials, non-ferrous metals, and general steel. Part of the WALTER-TITEX Series A1148 product family.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with cutting tool safety practices. Secure the shank fully within the chuck or collet before operation and verify runout is within acceptable limits for the application. This bit does not support coolant-through delivery; apply cutting fluid externally as appropriate for the workpiece material. Inspect the cutting edge for wear or chipping before each use and replace if damage is detected.
