The WALTER-TITEX 5057147 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance metal drilling in industrial and trade applications. Built from Vanadium High Speed Steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this bit features a 130-degree split point and a parabolic flute geometry that promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduced heat buildup. The overall length is 4-1/32 inches with a 2-inch flute length, making it well-suited for close-quarters drilling where a jobber-length bit would not fit. Machinists, tool-and-die techs, and maintenance trades install this bit in drill presses, CNC machines, and hand-held power drills.
This drill bit is optimized for use on a wide range of workpiece materials including aluminum alloy, aluminum silicon alloy, brass, copper alloy, stainless steel, and steel. Its screw machine length profile and straight-cylindrical shank make it a practical choice for production drilling, fixture work, and precision hole-making where rigidity and stub-length stability matter. The web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces thrust and improves centering, particularly in interrupted cuts and cross-drilled applications.
Rated for drilling aluminum alloy, aluminum silicon alloy, brass, copper alloy, stainless steel, and steel. Part of WALTER-TITEX Series A1148. Conforms to BS and DIN specification designations. Fits any standard drill chuck or collet sized for a 15/32-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
This bit is installed and replaced by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and maintenance mechanics. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before use and verify runout is within acceptable limits. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for stainless steel and copper alloys to extend tool life, noting this bit does not support through-coolant delivery. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines for spindle speed and feed rate based on workpiece material.
