The WALTER-TITEX 5057105 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding trade and industrial applications. Built from cobalt vanadium high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, this bit delivers the hardness and heat resistance needed when working with stainless steel, cast iron, hard materials, and non-ferrous metals. It measures 0.204 inches in diameter (wire size 6) with an overall length of 2-7/16 inches and a flute length of 1-1/32 inches. The 130-degree split point and web-thinned, tapered web construction reduce walking and lower thrust force at the start of each cut. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks and CNC tool holders alike.
This drill bit is suited for production drilling, maintenance work, and fabrication environments where shorter tool length improves rigidity and control. The screw machine length profile reduces deflection in tight spaces or in setups with limited spindle clearance. Its parabolic flute geometry with a 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio promotes efficient chip evacuation in deep-hole drilling passes up to a maximum drilling depth of 0.700 inches. Machinists, pipefitters, sheet metal workers, and maintenance techs working in metal fabrication and mechanical contracting applications will find this bit at home in both manual and CNC drilling operations. It conforms to DIN, ISO, and BS standards.
Designed for drilling cast iron, hard materials, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, and general steel stock. Fits any drill chuck or CNC spindle accepting a straight-cylindrical shank at 0.204 inches diameter. Part of the WALTER-TITEX Series A1148 screw machine length drill line.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or trade professionals familiar with rotating cutting tools and machine tool safety. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation and confirm the spindle is at a complete stop before changing or inspecting the bit. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit, so external coolant or cutting fluid application should be managed manually when drilling stainless steel or hard alloys. Follow applicable OSHA machine guarding requirements and shop safety protocols when operating drill presses, lathes, or CNC machining centers.
