The WALTER-TITEX 5057080 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in a range of metallic workpiece materials. Built from vanadium high speed steel with a bright/uncoated finish, it measures 0.104 inches in diameter and carries a wire gauge designation of number 37. The 130-degree split point reduces walking on entry and requires no center punch on most metals. A parabolic flute geometry accelerates chip evacuation, making this bit well suited for deeper holes relative to its diameter. Overall length is 1-11/16 inches. This bit is intended for use by machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and maintenance technicians running drill presses, CNC machining centers, or hand-held power tools in production and maintenance environments.
The 5057080 is engineered for drilling aluminum alloy, aluminum silicon alloy, brass, copper alloy, stainless steel, and steel. Its compact screw machine length profile provides increased rigidity compared to jobber-length bits, reducing deflection and improving hole location accuracy. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks and collets without modification. This bit is a practical choice for sheet metal work, fixture building, and general precision drilling where tight tolerances and clean hole walls are required across mixed-material applications.
Designed for use with standard drill presses, CNC drilling centers, and hand-held power tools accepting a straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for drilling aluminum alloy, aluminum silicon alloy, brass, copper alloy, stainless steel, and steel workpieces. Part of the WALTER-TITEX Series A1148 high-performance screw machine drill line.
Install and remove this bit with the machine fully powered down and the chuck key clear of the chuck before starting the spindle. Secure the shank firmly in a properly sized drill chuck or collet to prevent runout. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine manufacturer guidelines for speed and feed settings appropriate to the workpiece material and bit diameter. Do not exceed the recommended drill speed for the material being cut, as overheating will degrade the high speed steel cutting edge.
