The WALTER-TITEX 5057077 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance metal drilling in demanding trade and industrial applications. Built from cobalt and vanadium high speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this bit delivers durability and heat resistance when working through tough workpiece materials. It features a 0.111-inch diameter, a 130-degree split point for accurate starts without center-punching, and a parabolic flute geometry that promotes efficient chip evacuation. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks. At 1-13/16 inches overall length, this screw machine length format is optimized for shorter, more rigid setups in production and repair environments. Licensed machinists, HVAC fabricators, and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary users.
This drill bit is suited for use in screw machine operations and short-hole drilling applications. Its parabolic flute design with a 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio makes it effective in cast iron, stainless steel, hard materials, non-ferrous metals, and general steel. The web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces thrust requirements and improves centering on harder alloys. It is a strong choice for high-cycle production drilling where consistent tolerance and tool life are priorities. Maximum drilling depth is 0.400 inches.
Designed as an OEM-style screw machine length drill bit compatible with standard straight-cylindrical shank drill chucks. Suitable for primary workpiece materials including cast iron, hard materials, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, and steel as stated in manufacturer specifications.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with drill press, CNC, or hand-held drill operation. Always secure the workpiece and verify chuck grip on the straight-cylindrical shank before operation. Power down and de-energize the machine before changing bits. Follow applicable OSHA machining safety standards and use appropriate eye protection and cutting fluid recommendations for the target material.
