The VALUE COLLECTION TNMP321 ICP55 is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Conforming to ANSI insert code TNMP321 and ISO insert code TNMP160304, this insert features a 60-degree triangular shape with a negative side clearance and a 0 degree relief angle. The inscribed circle measures 3/8 inches and the corner radius is 1/64 inches, making it well-suited for moderate finishing and light roughing passes. Manufacturer grade TCN55 indicates a coated carbide grade appropriate for steel and stainless steel workpiece materials. Installation is performed by machinists and toolroom technicians as part of standard insert changeout procedures.
This insert is used in turning operations on ferrous workpiece materials, including carbon steel and stainless steel, corresponding to primary workpiece material codes P and M. The TNMP insert style uses a combination clamp and pin holding method, which provides rigid seating in compatible toolholders. Typical applications include OD turning, facing, and light contouring on both manual and CNC lathes in job shop and production environments. Each package contains one insert. The minimum order quantity is 10 inserts.
Designed as a replacement-style turning insert for toolholders accepting TNMP321 ANSI-standard inserts with clamp and pin holding configurations. Compatible workpiece material codes P and M indicate suitability for carbon steel and stainless steel turning applications.
Insert changeout should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine in a powered-off and locked-out state per applicable lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the insert fully against the toolholder pocket and verify the clamp and pin are properly engaged before resuming operation. Do not exceed the toolholder manufacturer's recommended depth of cut or feed rate for this insert geometry. Inspect the cutting edge for chipping or wear at each changeout interval.
