The VALUE COLLECTION R63081061 is a standard wing nut machined from 18-8 stainless steel with a 1/2-13 UNC thread specification. The right-hand thread pattern engages standard UNC-threaded fasteners and rod. Wing span measures 1.94 inches and wing height measures 1.0 inch, giving a solid grip surface for hand-tightening without tools. The silver-finish stainless construction resists corrosion in wet or outdoor environments. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, electricians, and general trade workers use this nut wherever a tool-free fastener solution is needed in a corrosion-prone location.
This wing nut is suited for light-duty clamping and panel-securing applications in residential and commercial construction, mechanical rooms, electrical enclosures, and equipment access panels. The 18-8 stainless steel grade handles exposure to moisture and mild chemicals without significant oxidation. It is a hand-tightened solution and is not intended for high-torque structural connections. Applications include pipe hangers, cover plates, access doors, and any assembly that requires periodic removal without tools.
Designed for use with 1/2-13 UNC threaded bolts, rods, and studs following standard inch-series Unified National Coarse thread specifications.
Installation does not require specialized tools and is performed by hand. Confirm the mating bolt or stud is 1/2-13 UNC before installation to avoid cross-threading. Do not use an impact driver or wrench on a standard wing nut, as the wings are not designed for mechanical torque. Shut down and de-energize any electrical or mechanical system before servicing fastened panels or enclosures.
