The VALUE COLLECTION HBA66020BM is a No. 6 pan head self-drilling screw designed for fast, reliable fastening without a pre-drilled pilot hole. Featuring a Phillips drive and a 2-point drill tip, this screw cuts its own hole and threads as it drives, reducing installation steps. The 5/8-inch length under head suits light-gauge sheet metal, HVAC ductwork, electrical enclosures, and similar thin-material assemblies. The base material is 1016/1024 steel with a zinc-plated finish that provides corrosion resistance in standard indoor and sheltered applications. Sold in a minimum order quantity of 100 per purchase.
This screw is suited for residential and light commercial applications where techs need to fasten sheet metal panels, junction boxes, duct flanges, or equipment covers quickly. The pan head profile distributes clamping load over a wider bearing surface compared to a flat head, making it a practical choice when working with thin-gauge or softer substrates. HVAC installers, sheet metal workers, and electricians commonly use this style of fastener during equipment installation, service panel work, and ductwork fabrication.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-use fastener for light-gauge sheet metal, HVAC ductwork panels, electrical enclosures, and similar thin-material assemblies requiring a No. 6 self-drilling screw with a pan head profile.
Self-drilling screws should be driven with a power screwdriver or drill-driver set to a controlled clutch torque to avoid stripping the Phillips recess or overdriving through thin material. Power down or de-energize any electrical enclosure or equipment panel before fastening near live components, in accordance with NFPA 70 (NEC) lockout-tagout requirements. Inspect the drill point for wear before driving into harder substrates; a dull point will walk and reduce thread engagement. Use appropriate eye protection when drilling into metal.
