The VALUE COLLECTION 831110PR is a metric set screw engineered for secure, tool-driven fastening in mechanical assemblies. This cone point set screw features an M8 x 1.25 thread profile and an overall length of 16 mm. It is manufactured from alloy steel to Grade 14.9 (45H), making it one of the highest-strength classifications available for metric fasteners. The black oxide finish provides light corrosion resistance and reduces galling during installation. Drive engagement is achieved with a 4 mm hex key. Machinists, millwrights, and maintenance technicians install these in shaft collars, pulleys, gears, and similar components where a positive point bite into a shaft is required.
The 831110PR is suited for use in industrial machinery, rotating equipment, and precision mechanical assemblies where the cone point geometry is specified to locate or lock a component onto a shaft. The cone point concentrates clamping force at a single contact area, making it appropriate for permanent or semi-permanent shaft retention. Typical installation environments include manufacturing, automation, and general industrial maintenance settings. This part is sold individually but requires a minimum order quantity of 100 pieces per order.
Designed as a DIN 914 and ISO 4027 compliant metric cone point set screw for use in any mechanical assembly specifying an M8 x 1.25 cone point grub screw in Grade 14.9 alloy steel.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians using a 4 mm hex key or hex driver. Ensure the mating shaft and tapped bore are clean and free of debris before driving the screw to the specified seating torque per your assembly documentation. De-energize and lock out any rotating or powered equipment before servicing components secured by set screws. Do not exceed the rated material grade torque limits, as over-tightening can shear the screw or damage the shaft surface.
