The VALUE COLLECTION 723-4338 is a cobalt square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal fabrication and machining environments. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, this tool handles harder workpiece materials and maintains cutting edge integrity under higher heat conditions compared to standard HSS tooling. The 5/64 inch (0.0781 inch) cutting diameter and 1/4 inch length of cut make it suited for fine detail work and small-feature milling. The double-end configuration delivers two usable cutting ends, extending tool life per unit. Machinists and toolroom professionals working in job shops, production facilities, and maintenance shops are the primary users of this end mill.
This end mill is well suited for small-diameter slot milling, contouring, and profile work in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces chatter during cuts. The bright/uncoated finish makes it compatible with a wide range of cutting fluids and materials without coating-compatibility concerns. It fits standard milling machines, CNC machining centers, and manual mills accepting a 3/16 inch shank. The long-length series classification provides additional reach for deeper cavity work where standard-length tooling cannot access the feature.
Designed for use in standard milling machines and CNC machining centers accepting a 3/16 inch round shank. Compatible with collet systems and end mill holders sized for 3/16 inch shank tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolroom safety practices. Secure the shank fully within the collet or end mill holder to the manufacturer-recommended engagement depth before tightening. Verify spindle runout is within acceptable tolerance before beginning cuts, as runout amplifies wear on small-diameter tooling. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing or inspecting any cutting tool.
