The UBIQUITI wave-lr-us is a 60 GHz point-to-multipoint (PtMP) subscriber station designed for high-capacity outdoor wireless links. It connects to a Wave access point and delivers up to 2 Gbps total throughput with 1 Gbps full duplex. The unit runs airOS on a dual-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor at 1 GHz with 512 MB DDR3L memory. A built-in 5 GHz backup radio maintains link continuity if the 60 GHz path is disrupted. A Bluetooth radio enables quick field configuration through the UISP Mobile app. Maximum power consumption is 18 watts, supplied via 48VDC passive PoE over four or two pairs, or 24VDC passive PoE.
The wave-lr-us is built for outdoor fixed-wireless deployments where high-throughput PtMP connectivity is required. It is typically installed by network technicians and wireless ISPs on poles with outer diameters ranging from 1 inch to 3 inches. The included galvanized steel mount and IPX6-rated UV-stabilized plastic enclosure suit year-round outdoor exposure. The unit supports both bridge and router operating modes and integrates with Ubiquiti UISP network management tools, making it a practical fit for last-mile or enterprise campus wireless distribution networks.
Designed to operate as a PtMP station connecting to a Ubiquiti Wave access point. Can be powered by a UISP Router or UISP Switch in addition to the included 48VDC 0.65A gigabit PoE adapter. Management is supported via any modern web browser or an iOS or Android smartphone running the UISP Mobile app.
Installation should be performed by a qualified network technician familiar with outdoor wireless mounting and PoE wiring practices. Power down the PoE power source before connecting or disconnecting the Ethernet cable at the unit. Mount the unit to a grounded pole structure in compliance with local telecommunications and electrical codes. Use the built-in antenna alignment LEDs and alignment tool in airOS to optimize the link before finalizing the mount position.
