The TWECO 1028-1162 is an air-cooled MIG welding gun built for wire sizes from 0.040 to 0.045 inches and rated at 250 amps. The Eliminator series gun ships with a Miller style rear connection and a 15 ft cable assembly. Dual spring and rubber strain reliefs on both ends of the gun reduce cable stress at both the handle and the rear fitting. A ball-and-socket articulating conductor tube uses three-layer construction — copper tube, silicone resin fiberglass insulator, and metal jacket — to deliver consistent current transfer and resist damage in production environments. Four trigger wires are routed through the Cablehoz for field serviceability. Licensed welding professionals and fabrication shops install this gun on compatible Miller-style wire feeders and power sources.
The 1028-1162 suits a wide range of welding applications including spray transfer and pulse welding modes using straight CO2 or mixed shielding gases. The gun performs in farm, garage, shop, maintenance and repair, artistic metalworking, and light production settings. The extended ergonomic handle reduces radiated heat to the operator's gloved hand during extended runs. The split-half handle case and field-repairable mechanical cable connections in the Cablehoz allow on-site repairs without returning the gun to a service depot. Duty cycle is rated at 60 percent using CO2 gas.
Designed for use with Miller style rear connection wire feeders and power sources. Accepts 0.040 to 0.045 inch welding wire. Refer to the TWECO Eliminator compatibility guide to confirm fit with specific feeder models before installation.
Installation is performed by a qualified welder or welding equipment technician. Power down and disconnect the welding power source before connecting or inspecting the gun and cable assembly. Verify the rear connection style on the feeder matches the Miller style fitting on this gun before installation. Inspect strain reliefs, liner, and contact tip condition periodically and replace worn consumables to maintain safe, consistent arc performance.
