The TRU-MAXX 66253255574 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel designed for precision stock removal on surface grinders in metalworking and machine shop environments. The wheel measures 7 inches in diameter, 3/4 inches thick, with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole. It is made from aluminum oxide abrasive with a vitrified bond and carries a 46 grit, K hardness (medium) rating. The vitrified bond provides rigidity and porosity control suited to wet or dry surface grinding passes. Rated at a maximum of 3600 RPM, this wheel is built for controlled, consistent cuts on ferrous metals and tool steels. It weighs 2 pounds and ships as a single unit.
This wheel is intended for use on horizontal-spindle surface grinders common in job shops, tool rooms, and maintenance facilities handling ferrous workpieces. The coarse 46 grit is well suited for aggressive material removal and rough finishing passes before a finer wheel is used for final surface finish. The semi-friable aluminum oxide grain and grain structure rating of 6 make it appropriate for medium-hardness steels where the abrasive needs to break down at a controlled rate. Licensed machinists, toolroom operators, and industrial maintenance technicians are the typical end users for this type of wheel.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement grinding wheel for horizontal-spindle surface grinders accepting a 7 inch diameter, 3/4 inch wide, Type 1 wheel with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole.
Grinding wheel mounting and dressing must be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom operator in accordance with ANSI B11.9 and applicable OSHA standards for abrasive wheel machinery. Always power down and lock out the surface grinder before mounting or removing the wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips using the ring test before installation — never mount a damaged wheel. Never exceed the 3600 RPM maximum speed rating marked on the wheel.
