The TRU-MAXX 66253255572 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel designed for precision stock removal and surface finishing on ferrous metals and hardened steels. It is constructed from aluminum oxide abrasive grain with a vitrified bond, producing a rigid, porous-free wheel structure well-suited to wet or dry surface grinding operations. The wheel measures 6 inches in diameter, 1/2 inch thick, with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole, and carries an 80 grit rating with K hardness code, placing it in the medium hardness range. Maximum operating speed is 5410 RPM. Machinists, tool and die technicians, and industrial maintenance professionals are the primary installers and operators of this wheel.
This wheel is intended for use on surface grinders in production and maintenance shop environments. The Type 1 straight-wheel configuration fits standard surface grinder spindle arbors sized to accept a 1-1/4 inch bore. The 80 grit and K hardness combination suits medium-finishing passes on tool steels, alloy steels, and similar ferrous workpieces where moderate material removal rates and a reasonably fine surface finish are both required. No recess geometry simplifies arbor mounting and flange contact across a full face width.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard stock wheel for surface grinders accepting a Type 1 straight wheel with a 1-1/4 inch arbor bore and 6 inch diameter.
Grinding wheel mounting must be performed by a qualified machinist or maintenance technician following ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.215 guarding requirements. Before mounting, inspect the wheel for cracks by performing a ring test; never mount a damaged wheel. Power down and lock out the grinder before changing wheels, and ensure flanges are clean, flat, and the correct diameter for this wheel size. Always run the wheel under guard at no-load speed for at least one minute before engaging the workpiece.
